Australian Curriculum

Modbury School P-6 aims to create powerful learners through development of 21st Century skills. Embedded in our teaching are the 8 areas determined by the Australian Curriculum.

 

The eight areas of the Australian Curriculum are integrated with each other and contextualised to everyday life to ensure learning is personalised and relevant.

Humanities

Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) provides understanding of the world in which we live, how people are active citizens and develop skills for the 21st century. Areas of learning include:  History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business.

 

 

The Arts

The Arts supports the development of confident and creative individuals that connect with others in a creative way. Areas of learning include: Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music and Visual Arts.

 

 

Languages

Languages help us to be effective communicators and connect with other cultures. . Students in Reception to year 1 learn Kaurna, whilst students from year 2 to 7 learn Japanese.

 

 

Health and Physical Education
